Fine Arts and Urban Culture
Walter Helwich is an active member of the Center for Fine Arts, which is one of the oldest cultural institutions. In accordance with the law, Statute and other general acts of the Institution, he conducts activities in the culture which are of importance to broad public. Walter also ensures implementation of the right of citizens to meet their needs, as well as the realization of the second law established interest in the field of video culture.
The Centre of Fine Arts is classified according to the uniform classification of activities in the area – Creative designs, arts and entertainment activities. Its activities work towards continuous development of interdisciplinary art scene in New York, the traditional arts, as well as current, new visual tendencies. Mr. Helwich encourages creative exploration and penetration of new ideas and concepts, and aims to improve the conditions for openness and accessibility of cultural facilities and public citizens.
One of the main goals of the foundation is the education of the young, as well as develop their interest in design and visual arts. The organization is known and recognized in New York State and abroad because of its unique role played by such institutions, which for more than six decades offer successful and fruitful love of art education. Many of its former students today are highly respected authors, educators, movie critics, theorists and many others, which in their autobiographies respectfully referred to the time they spent in the famous “Center for Fine Arts”.
For many people, Walter M Helwich today stands as stakeholder or social organism, still active with his creative contribution in order to create better identity of the city, enriching the cultural heritage, while operating in accordance with current policies of multiculturalism and intercultural dialogue. Walter Helwich supports the development of a culture of diversity, opening the institution to new audiences and new content, is committed to linking education and culture and so on.
Starting from the activities conducted and the purpose of efficient and effective execution of tasks, the Center for Fine Arts conducts activities within a unified body of work processes. Those program activities are under the Statute on the establishment of institutions and are intended to achieve an active participation of the Centre in the cultural and artistic life of the NYC, connecting to contribute, exchange, presentat and promote cultural and artistic content in order to improve the quality of cultural life. The activities also include cooperating and networking with other institutions and cultural and educational institutions, as well as contributing to the popularization of the work of the Centre.
Program and development of the Centre for Fine Arts, is designed by Walter Helwich in compliance with the law, personnel, material and other conditions in which the Center for Art Education operates. The institution adopts an annual plan and program of work of the Foundation, as well as development plans and programs of work for a longer period of time – a medium-term plans. Annual plans and program of work of the Foundation adopts the proposal of the Director – Walter Martin Helwich and the Board of the organization.
